One of the cool things I get to do is read books before they’re published. Some are because I’m editing them, or because I’ve promised feedback to friends. Some are because I’m lucky enough to get an ARC (Having a sister who’s a librarian is handy for this. She gets them as part of her dayjob, I get them when she’s done with them if I want them!) Others, I just buy when they’re out.

So I thought it might be fun to show you what catches my attention, before I read them. Some may get reviews, others maybe not. It depends on many things, including my moods.

The Society by Jodie Andrefski

This popped to my notice since she’s mentoring with #Pitchwars for 2016. I love dark, twisted contemporaries, and this sounds like it has potential for a lot of creative vengeance. (Not to mention, she’ll be in Philly in June, so I’m going to try to pop by her event, weather permitting! I always love meeting other writers!)

The Crown’s Game (The Crown’s Game #1) by Evelyn Skye

Magic and Russia always seemed to me to go together. Maybe I watched Anastasia too many times when I was younger, but there’s something fascinating to me about the contrast between the outward beauty and inward corruption that happens in Russia.

Outrun the Moon by Stacey Lee

I’m always fascinated by natural disasters in books. This sounds like it will either be AMAZING or fall very flat to me, because I’m not always as fond of historical novels. The voice really has to suit the time period, for me to love it. But I have high hopes.

There you have it! Any you’re excited about? Ones that aren’t on here you’re stoked about? Feel free to shout them out! There are never too many books in my world!
